The history of the Medical University of Lublin goes back to 1944 when the Faculty of Medicine was included as part of the newly founded Maria Curie-Sklodowska University. In 1950 the Faculty separated from MCSU to form the independent Medical Academy. Throughout the years, new areas of research and education, such as nursing, pharmacy, or dentistry, were added. In 2001 the English Language Division was founded which has been offering education in Medicine in the English language to students from all over the world. In 2008 Medical Academy transformed into a university, assuming the name of the Medical University of Lublin.
ACCREDITATIONS
The Medical University of Lublin is widely recognized around the world. lt is listed on FAIMEPUS International Medical Education Directory (IMED). Our programs are compliant with all Polish and European Union higher education requirements.
In order to maintain and strengthen its position as a leader in medical education, the Medical University of Lublin has been engaged in continuous efforts to monitor, evaluate, and improve the curriculum and its impact upon students to ensure that every accreditation committee approves the University with honors. Until this moment, MUL has accomplished this goal.
RESEARCH
The Medical University of Lublin participates in a number of domestic and international scientific projects, including:
A study of primary healthcare in 30 European countries: "the MOCI-IA project will appraise the differing models of child health that are used across Europe" - Department of Public Health.
Robotic Assistant for MCI patients at home: "RAMCIP aims to research and develop real robotic solutions for assistive robotics for the elderly and those suffering from Mild Cognitive Impairments and dementia" - Department of Neurology.
Remote Medical Diagnostician: "ReMeDi is a robot system designed for medical tele-examination of patients" - Department of Cardiology.
The development and applications of the bioactive composite which can replace human bone - Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology.
We are also the local leader in ophthalmology and eye surgery.
